Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 with a competitive benefits package. EOE

Job Description/Duties:

Accept the challenge and assume a vital, regional role with the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. The Houston Academy of Medicine -Texas Medical Center (HAM-TMC) Library, the Regional Medical Library (RML) for the NN/LM South Central Region (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas) seeks a collaborative and collegial Associate Director, dedicated to the NN/LM mission - to advance the progress of medicine and improve the public health by providing all U.S. health professionals with equal access to biomedical information to enable them to make informed decisions about their health. The successful Associate Director s responsibilities include: working with coordinators, NN/LM representatives, Regional Advisory Committees, Library Directors and other members in the key areas of finance (budgeting, grant-writing, and fundraising); developing relationships; developing and implementing regional programs; and developing and delivering educational opportunities. The Associate Director also develops, disseminates and maintains the Regional Emergency Preparedness Plan. Supervisory responsibilities include all aspects of personnel management of the NN/LM SCR staff and establishing goals and objectives for the program based on standards, service and teamwork. The Associate Director works closely with the Executive Director of the Houston Academy of Medicine Texas Medical Center Library to develop and implement strategic plans, collaborate with the library departments, and provide support to the library s staff when needed. Minimum requirements: The qualified candidate will have an ALA-accredited MLS and a minimum of eight years progressively responsible library experience. Desired qualities include a knowledge of the NN/LM programs including South Central Region and its information needs; an additional graduate degree in the health services field and/or experience in an academic health center environment; and demonstrated professional commitment.
